Stephen Traynor (born on 25 October 1991 in Dublin) is an Irish footballer currently playing for Bohemians in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland.

Career

Stephen was a member of the successful Belvedere side who won the FAI Umbro under 17 Cup in 2009 by beating Kilmallock United.[1]

After moving to the senior ranks, he joined Bohemians where he was a regular in their under 20s and "A" team that reached the Newstalk Cup final (A Team) and the Dr. Tony O'Neill Cup final (under 20s). Unfortunately for Stephen and Bohs, they would be defeated in both.[2][3] He also made the bench for the first team on numerous occasions including the Setanta Sports Cup Final where Bohs beat St. Patricks Athletic 1-0 to claim the trophy.[4]

With the financial uncertainty at Bohemians during the off season, Traynor found himself in the first team squad and made his league debut for the club when named in the starting line up against Bray Wanderers on 4 March.[5] The match ended in a victorious 3-1 win for Bohs and Traynor impressed sufficiently to cement his place in the starting XI for the following matches. He then netted his first league goal for Bohs on 22 April in a 2-1 win over Sligo.[6]
